Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London,

February – March 2025 mallgalleries.org.uk

I was honoured to present my installation Rosalume at the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition held at Mall Galleries. Showing my work alongside the Society’s diverse mix of contemporary artists was both humbling and energising, connecting me with a broad audience that shares a deep passion for art’s evolving dialogue. The exhibition sparked insightful conversations about light, space, and perception—themes central to Rosalume—and it was immensely rewarding to witness how viewers engaged with the piece. Being part of this storied annual show reaffirmed my belief in the power of collective creativity and the importance of exhibiting in inclusive, thoughtfully curated spaces.

I was pleased to have the opportunity to showcase my work at the Turner House Gallery, in partnership with the National Museum of Wales. This collaboration made the exhibition even more meaningful, as it brought together a wider audience and fostered rich conversations about art and its impact. It was truly rewarding to see how viewers engaged with my work and to be part of such a vibrant and inspiring creative community.

My work featured a map of Wales, highlighting places of beauty through my own artistic style. The lighthouses in my pieces were particularly inspired by Flat Holm Island Lighthouse, reflecting my involvement with the Flat Holm Society, where I regularly visit to help maintain its historic sites and buildings. One of my key works, the heron automaton, captures the graceful flight of the herons that inhabit the River Taff. Additionally, my depiction of the curlew was created as part of my dissertation, exploring how art can influence awareness and understanding of global warming.

The Cardiff Met Award recognises students who go above and beyond in volunteering and extracurricular activities during their studies. I was proud to receive this award for my role as a warden at Plas Gwyn Halls, where I supported students, led tours, and helped foster a positive living environment alongside my academic work.

My piece, The Lighthouse Keeper’s Ascent, was featured in the Turner House Gallery’s Open Exhibition in 2023, held in partnership with the National Museum of Wales. It was a pleasure to be part of such a vibrant showcase of contemporary work, and I particularly enjoyed speaking with visitors on the opening night about the ideas and processes behind my sculpture.
